Our Paws For Change Senior Safe House is one of its kind in Bali specific for old senior street dogs to retire & live out their days under our love & care.

This safe house was born from a loving partnership between PFC & BRDS in 2020 before COVID & has been the safe haven for up to a minimum of 30 seniors so far.

While being its only kind in Bali, it’s easy for us to fill this home with the many senior street dogs however, our vision has always been to ensure each & every dog we rescue, lives exactly as a loved pet. This means they all sleep on nice warm beds, have big furry blankets to cover them at night if they get cold, go on two beautiful scenic walks a day, one in the morning & one in the evening, get to laze around & forget about all their hardships in their previous lives until they’re ready to leave us.

Here, they continue their treatment to as close to healing as possible if not all the way. Treatments can continue for up to six months & more, or for life. We focus on holistic healing to prolong the lives of our seniors as well as preventative maintenance which seems to have proven to be working well for them. Our main priority is to take care of their liver & kidneys & all other needs they require. There’s no limit to what we can do for these dear old souls.

There is a criteria for senior dogs to enter this home although sometimes, it’s quite difficult to tell the age due to the amount of neglect these dogs have endured in their lives. We try to focus on ten years & above however our range at the moment is anything from 3 years – 14 years. We thought it would be a good idea to mix in one or two young ones, to keep some of the oldies young at heart & this plan seems to be working!
